About the Ossetian Alphabet

The Ossetian alphabet uses the Cyrillic script with 43 letters, including the unique letter Ӕ and several digraphs with ъ. Ossetian is an Iranian language spoken in the Caucasus region. The alphabet was designed to represent Ossetian's complex consonant system and unique vowel sounds.

History
