Type Amharic (አማርኛ) online

This online Amharic keyboard helps you type Amharic in Ethiopic (Geʽez) script directly in your browser. It is useful for messages, study notes, and writing names correctly when you do not have an Amharic keyboard installed.

Amharic uses syllable characters like አ, ቤ, and ሰ. If you are used to Latin letters, finding these characters can be difficult. This page puts them on a layout so you can click and type more easily.

1. Click inside the text box to place the cursor.
2. Type using your keyboard or click the characters on the layout.
3. Use Shift for the alternate characters shown on some keys.
4. Use copy or download when you are finished.

Using the on-screen Amharic keys
